Northwestern Men’s Basketball Wins Overtime Thriller Against Florida Atlantic

The Northwestern Wildcats (21-11) defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls (23-10) in overtime by a score of 77-65 on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The game was close throughout, with neither team able to pull away. The Wildcats led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but the Owls rallied to tie the game at 65 with just seconds remaining in regulation.

In overtime, Northwestern took control of the game, outscoring the Owls 12-0. Graduate student guard Ryan Langborg led the Wildcats with 12 points in overtime, including a pair of three-pointers.
Langborg finished the game with a career-high 24 points. He also had six rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward Pete Nance had a double-double for the Wildcats with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior guard Boo Buie added 14 points for Northwestern.
The Wildcats shot 46.2% from the field, including 50.0% from three-point range.
The Owls shot 40.0% from the field, including 33.3% from three-point range.
FAU was led by guard Johnell Davis, who had 21 points.
Forward Jailyn Ingram added 16 points for the Owls.
With the win, Northwestern advances to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they will face the winner of the Purdue-Yale game.
